Saw DJ /rupture play a wonderful set Club 6 last night. Non-stop dance party, mixing all kinds of stuff, from dubstep to cumbia. He’s got a good blog, too.
Sometimes it helps to give yourself a framework to work in. Maybe use the exact BPM of a song you like. And use the same kind of synth sounds. And the same rhythm pattern. And then try to make it your own.
